BOOKWALTER Retractor Kit II

The BOOKWALTER Kit II can be used effectively for many procedures. Single post fixation, choice of ring configuration, retractor blade options, quick release ratchet mechanism, and choice of horizontal bar or horizontal flex bar combine to afford optimal exposure important in many procedures, including cholecystectomy, retroperitoneal resections, nephrectomy, abdominal aortic aneurysms, iliac femoral grafts, abdominal hysterectomy, appendectomy, hernia repair and transplant procedures.

BOOKWALTER Spinal Retractor System

The BOOKWALTER Spinal Retractor System, a one system approach, creates an open field for the surgeon, enabling the operating room staff hands-free assistance.

Single Post Fixation
Single post fixation attaches over the sterile drape, providing secure stabilization, and does not compromise sterile technique.

Retractor Blade Options
Sixteen different retractor blades are included. The blades provide excellent lateral retraction and are easy to set up. They can be positioned in the place they fit best, accommodating for the size of the patient and the amount of exposure needed.

Choice of Ratchet Mechanisms
The system includes four tilt ratchet mechanisms and six straight ratchet mechanisms. The single button tilt ratchet affords easy adjustment of retractor tension and depth, white the straight ratchet mechanism provides excellent shallow retraction and allows wide lateral exposure.

Flexible Ring with Segments
A flexible ring configuration adapts to the contours of different sizes patients. It allows for a low profile, unobstructed view, and maximum field exposure. A variety of length combinations and various sized straight ring segments accommodate multi-level exposure.

Two Deaver Retractor Blade Sizes. Small and large Deaver retractor blades afford optimal exposure before and after entering the anterior cul-de-sac for retraction of the bladder.

Vaginal Ring Angulation. 20-degree angulation contours to the patient's anatomy, affording retraction from two separate planes.

BOOKWALTER Urologic Retractor System

With the basic set-up, the traditional BOOKWALTER design offers quick and easy assembly to accomodate different sized patients, and easy adjustment of retractors during surgery. The addition of the fiberoptic light with its memory sleeve construction, provides the surgeon direct light during the operation. Depending upon the procedure, the suggested retractor blades provide optimal exposure of the wound site.
