Traditional forceps allow heat to build-up
at the tips during coagulation, causing delicate tissue
and blood vessels to stick and/or tear. As a result, neurosurgeons
must repeatedly interrupt procedures to avoid overheating
and clean forceps. However, with ISOCOOL® Forceps,
a transformation in bipolar forceps use is now taking
place.
Thanks to Active Heat Transfer (AHT) technology,
ISOCOOL® Bipolar Forceps stay cool and clean – virtually
eliminating the need to pause because of sticking during
neurosurgical procedures. That’s because ISOCOOL®
incorporates a proprietary heat pipe technology that draws
heat away and maintains tip temperatures well below 80°C.

Codman's Bipolar Electrosurgery product
line includes bipolar generators, forceps, tubing and
cord sets. The generator provides both coagulation and
cutting outputs to provide the surgeon with the precise
and effective tissue management needed. As described by
some neurosurgeons, Codman does indeed have the gold standard
for bipolar electrosurgical generators for the neurosurgeon.
Complementing this generator is the largest line of bipolar
forceps, which are available in insulated and un-insulated
styles. The CODMAN® Non-stick Mirror Finish Bipolar
Forceps provide the resistance to sticking needed to give
the surgeon the precise effective coagulation. In addition,
Codman offers a line of disposable instruments for all
neuro and spinal procedures involving coagulation and
tissue removal. The instruments are especially useful
where monopolar devices are not recommended. |
